“Only if you dream it, can you achieve it” are words that would have motivated many to start their own businesses. But along with dreaming, one needs a lot of support to turn the dreams into a reality. Family and monetary support is of course most important but, in this fast paced and competitive world, one needs to remain relevant to really succeed. Fortunately, there are some tools and the plethora of benefits they offer that come to the rescue. The best part being that they are free!!

So here’s our compilation of our favorite tools that helped us a lot and we are sanguine that they will be equally beneficial for you.

Tools startups can't survive without CanvaCanva – Founded in 2012 by Melanie Perkins and Cliff Obrecht, Canva is a free graphic-design tool website. With an easy to use drag-and-drop interface, it provides its users an access to over a million photographs, graphics, and fonts. It is used by both, non-designers as well as professionals. The tools can be used for web and print media design and graphics. And that’s what we have used it for. All our designs on social media channels are made in Canva. We loved the very short learning curve our team had in becoming experts at Canva. We have spent only few dollars for background images and layouts.

Tools startups can't survive without Hootsuite

Hootsuite – Created by Ryan Holmes in 2008, it provides a platform for managing your social media. The user interface takes the form of a dashboard, and supports social network integrations for Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Google+, YouTube, and many more. Extremely viable for those who are just starting their business because an effective social media presence can help create meaningful, long-lasting relationships with their clients. Team Kowrk has extensively used Hootsuite to schedule posts at different time intervals. We love that users can be tagged on all channels (something you want to attract more engagement for your posts). We used the free version until we started posting on Instagram (it’s free for 3 channels).

Tools startups can't survive without typeform

Typeform – It is a platform for collecting and sharing information, in a conversational, human way. Online forms are really boring and very often people avoid filling them up. In fact, in our opinion, all forms and most questionnaires are boring!  Fortunately, Typeform fixes that. Beautifully designed, asking a question at a time almost like a real conversation, they tend to keep people engaged and make a mundane activity like filling forms, engaging and fun. Team Kowrk has used Typeform for all the surveys. We replaced survey monkey with Typeform as the free version offers better user experience and equally strong reporting.

Tools startups can't survive without Mailchimp

MailChimp – It’s a software that helps you to design your own email newsletters, share them on social networks, integrate with services that you are already using, and finally helps to track your results. If that’s not a complete package, then we wonder what is! With more than 15 million businesses using MailChimp for sending their emails, it now ranks #7 on the Forbes Cloud 100 list. Team Kowrk has used MailChimp to share period updates and newsletters with our customers. We used the free version until our customer base was smaller (<2K). The paid version has become the backbone of our email marketing strategy.

If you are new to the world of entrepreneurship or are looking for tools in any of these specific areas, we would highly recommend using these tools to make you life simpler. Based on our experience at Kowrk, we would say that you’ll not be disappointed.
